About This Cocktail

Singhani 63 is a single malt Indian whisky produced by the Radico Khaitan distillery in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh — the same distillery that produces Rampur, India's most internationally recognized single malt. Singhani 63 takes its name from 1963, the year Radico was founded. It has a lighter, more floral character than Rampur, with jasmine, honey, and light wood notes that make it ideal for mixing. Sona's bar team discovered that Indian whisky + Campari + rose + Prosecco — a Negroni Sbagliato built around Indian ingredients — creates a drink that sings in a way no Italian whisky Negroni does.

Variations

Rampur KissUse Rampur Asava (double-cask Rampur finished in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels) — the wine-fruity finish with Campari and rose is extraordinary
Americano KissAdd 20ml sweet vermouth and skip the Prosecco — serves as a fuller, more bitter aperitivo
Without CampariReplace Campari with Aperol for a lighter, orange-forward, less bitter version

Singhani 63 and Rampur are available at Indian liquor stores and specialist whisky shops internationally. Their floral, lighter profile works much better here than heavier Indian whiskies. The Negroni Sbagliato format (replacing gin with sparkling wine) originated when a Milanese bartender accidentally poured Prosecco into a Negroni — the mistake that became a classic. Sona's version adds rose to the Campari structure, making the whole drink floral.
